When changes at the state-level meant that local chapters of the Ohio Nurses Association would be dissolved, the leadership at the Summit and Portage District of the ONA chose the Portage Foundation as their trusted partner in creating an endowed scholarships for undergraduate nurses.
This initiative not only aligns perfectly with our mission but also underscores the profound impact we can achieve together. Nurses are an integral part of the healthcare system. Through establishing this scholarship, SPDONA is not only investing in the education of future nurses, but also in the health and well-being of our communities. Talented students will be able to pursue their dreams, and in doing so, will make a lasting impact in the lives of countless patients and families.
